DevOps / SRE / DevSecOps Engineer (AWS) – Remote, Latin America

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential software consultancy serving clients across multiple industries. We're seeking an experienced DevOps/SRE/DevSecOps Engineer to join their growing Latin America-based team. This remote position offers the chance to work on diverse client projects involving modern cloud infrastructure, security-first practices, and high-availability systems.

You'll be working with cutting-edge AWS technologies while supporting mission-critical applications for enterprise clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced consulting environment and values continuous learning and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Manage and optimize containerized applications using Docker and ECS/Fargate
• Operate production Aurora/PostgreSQL databases, including multi-AZ configurations, read replicas, and performance monitoring
• Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines with tested rollback procedures and deployment automation
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using tools like OpenTelemetry and CloudWatch
• Conduct load testing and maintain services against defined latency SLOs and error budgets
• Support SOC 2 audit processes and client security reviews with proper documentation and evidence
• Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, and conduct thorough root-cause analyses
• Implement security best practices including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance hardening
• Collaborate with client teams during US business hours overlap

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, and S3
• Production experience operating Aurora/PostgreSQL databases with high availability configurations
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Experience with Docker containerization and ECS/Fargate orchestration
• Proven ability building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with automated deployments and rollback capabilities
• Experience with observability tooling and load testing frameworks (k6 or similar)
• Security-first mindset with practical experience in vulnerability management and compliance
• Background supporting SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks
• Experience with incident response and on-call support
• Bachelor's degree required
• Ability to overlap with US business hours
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent accountability and client-focused dedication

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with S3 Object Lock and long-term compliance retention
• Background supporting secure multi-tenant database environments (e.g., PostgreSQL Row-Level Security)
• Experience with database migration tooling and schema evolution strategies
• Prior work in compliance-sensitive domains such as fintech or telecom
