Design Engineer – Creative & Studio

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential AI technology organization seeking a Design Engineer to join their Creative & Studio division. This is a remote opportunity open to candidates based in the United Kingdom, offering the chance to work on cutting-edge generative AI products used by millions globally.

We're looking for product-focused engineers with strong frontend capabilities and UX sensibilities who can build and maintain sophisticated creative tools including image generation, video workflows, and audio creation features. You'll work on interface design that sets new standards for AI-powered creative platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain creative AI products and platforms serving millions of users worldwide
• Design and develop UX/UI workflows for creative features including image generation and generative AI tools
• Take end-to-end ownership of feature development across the full stack of creative products
• Shape product direction and technical roadmap for the features you own
• Collaborate with engineering, growth, and sales teams to solve customer workflow challenges
• Scope and build proof-of-concept products, sometimes directly with partner customers
• Improve existing products through UX enhancements, new functionality, and third-party integrations
• Work with design and growth teams to ensure cohesive end-to-end web experiences
• Execute and iterate on designs based on user feedback and industry best practices
• Mentor less experienced frontend engineers on the team
• Maintain infrastructure to ensure products remain performant, secure, and highly available at scale

What We're Looking For

• Strong frontend engineering experience with expertise in Next.js and React
• Proficiency with design libraries such as Shadcn, Framer Motion, or D3
• Demonstrated web development skills using TypeScript and React
• Portfolio showcasing web projects and ability to craft compelling web experiences
• Strong eye for design and user experience
• Familiarity with software and system design patterns including APIs, cloud infrastructure, storage solutions, and data structures
• Ability to showcase solving complex technical problems through past projects, designs, or GitHub contributions
• Experience building media or creative products for enterprise customers is a bonus
