Sr Principal Analyst, Microsoft

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology advisory firm seeking a Sr Principal Analyst, Microsoft based in the United States. Our client helps enterprise leaders translate technology insights into transformational actions, with a particular focus on strategic IT initiatives and contract optimization.

In this role, you will execute contract optimization engagements with a specialized focus on Microsoft enterprise software licensing and commercials. You'll provide critical technical and analytical expertise to help clients optimize their Microsoft investments, working collaboratively with team members across geographies.

Responsibilities

• Execute contract optimization client engagements with a focus on Microsoft enterprise software
• Provide technical, analytical, and knowledge components to successfully advise clients on Microsoft licensing strategies
• Analyze software deployment versus licensing/subscription data to identify optimization opportunities
• Develop cost models and risk mitigation strategies for enterprise software portfolios
• Present findings and recommendations to clients at all levels, from technical teams to C-suite executives
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the practice through collaboration with international team members
• Analyze large volumes of data to produce logical conclusions and actionable insights
• Deliver high-quality client deliverables under tight deadlines

What We're Looking For

• 5 to 8 years of experience in Microsoft enterprise software licensing, contracting, and commercials
• Deep understanding of Microsoft corporate strategy, sales behaviors, go-to-market approach, products, use rights, and licensing models
• Expertise in Microsoft volume licensing programs: EA, SCE, MCA-E, CSP, Azure MACC, and similar frameworks
• Proven contract management and contract optimization experience
• Strong analytical skills in software deployment analysis, cost modeling, license optimization, and cost reduction
• Dynamic presentation skills with the ability to engage audiences from technical staff to executive leadership
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities
• Ability to think creatively and respond effectively to complex client questions
• Collaborative mindset with experience working across distributed teams
• Coachable approach with commitment to continuous improvement
