Construction Administration Department Manager

M&T Bank is seeking a Construction Administration Department Manager to lead our construction lending operations in Wilmington, New Castle County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to manage a team of construction administration professionals while overseeing critical processes that serve our commercial construction clients.

About the Role

In this Construction Administration Department Manager role, you'll oversee construction administration managers and the controls governing our construction draw process. You'll ensure that construction loans remain in full regulatory compliance while managing complex lending portfolios and directing your team through sophisticated transactions and problem-solving scenarios. When needed, you'll assume direct portfolio management responsibilities to ensure continuity and quality across our construction lending operations.

What You'll Do

• Lead and supervise construction administration management staff
• Oversee construction draw review, approval, and disbursement processes
• Ensure construction loans comply with federal and state regulatory requirements and internal policies
• Review and approve construction loan documentation and borrower compliance matters
• Manage assigned construction loan portfolios and monitor performance and risk
• Guide team members through complex lending issues and provide solutions to operational challenges
• Coordinate with loan officers, borrowers, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the construction lending lifecycle
• Develop and mentor construction administration staff to support career growth

• Demonstrated experience in construction lending, construction administration, or commercial real estate finance
• Solid understanding of construction loan processes, draw procedures, and financing structures
• Knowledge of construction lending regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices
• Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing teams
• Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve multifaceted problems
• Capability to manage competing priorities and complex transactions simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
• Experience with lending platforms and standard financial software
