About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization based in Berlin that is transforming its industry through innovative technology and data-driven solutions. Our client is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join their international Outbound Data Science team and contribute to cutting-edge machine learning and AI projects.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize and maintain advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence systems as part of the data science team
  • Work on sophisticated AI domains including Reinforcement Learning and Q-learning algorithms
  • Identify, structure, and solve complex data challenges that deliver measurable business value
  • Experiment with emerging technologies and develop innovative solutions to unique technical problems
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively across stakeholders including data scientists, developers, product managers, and business leaders
  • Present technical product concepts and facilitate cross-functional collaboration

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in a startup or fintech environment
  • Strong proficiency in Python with data processing packages such as Pandas and Numpy
  • Familiarity with web frameworks like Flask or FastAPI
  • Knowledge of relational databases including MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Demonstrated track record of successful machine learning projects that solved real business problems
  • Experience with agile development practices including TDD/BDD, continuous integration, refactoring, and code reviews
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, or transformers
  • Hands-on experience deploying open-source LLMs including hosting, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and evaluation
  • Background in Reinforcement Learning
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure solutions such as AWS
