Data Manager in Clinical Trials

PSI CRO is recruiting a Data Manager in Clinical Trials to join our team based in Pretoria, GP, ZA. This is a full-time remote position ideal for healthcare professionals committed to maintaining data integrity in clinical research.

What This Role Involves

As a Data Manager in Clinical Trials, you'll be responsible for managing and ensuring the quality of clinical trial data throughout the study lifecycle. Your work will directly support the success of research programmes by maintaining accurate, complete, and auditable records. Working remotely from South Africa, you'll collaborate with clinical sites, monitors, and biostatisticians to deliver datasets that meet rigorous regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage electronic data capture (EDC) systems and oversee data entry protocols across trial sites
• Perform comprehensive data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance checks
• Create and maintain audit trails documenting all data modifications and access
• Develop data management plans, case report forms (CRFs), and standard operating procedures aligned with protocol requirements
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies in collaboration with clinical research teams
• Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory guidelines, and trial protocols
• Prepare data for statistical analysis and regulatory submission
• Maintain comprehensive clinical trial documentation and records management

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in life sciences, healthcare, statistics, information technology, or related field
• Proven experience in clinical trial data management or healthcare data roles
• Proficiency with EDC platforms and relational databases
• Strong understanding of GCP, data governance, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
• Professional communication skills and ability to work across geographically distributed teams
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to manage competing priorities
