Crisis Helpline Responder Indonesia (Full Time)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital healthcare organization seeking a full-time Crisis Helpline Responder based in Indonesia. Our talent team is conducting the search for a compassionate professional with proven experience in crisis intervention and suicide prevention counselling.

This role offers the opportunity to provide critical mental health support to individuals in crisis, their families, and concerned loved ones through a telephone helpline service.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis support calls from individuals bereaved by suicide, engaging in self-harm, experiencing suicidal ideation, and concerned family members or friends
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including lethality assessments for suicide cases
• Provide evidence-based professional crisis counselling services and personal support using de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques
• Assess caller needs and triage for immediate safety, emergency medical attention, or referrals to face-to-face crisis intervention, case management, individual therapy, or group services
• Maintain accurate and detailed call reports documenting key issues and referral actions
• Comply with data protection regulations and confidentiality requirements
• Support development of crisis management plans for callers in distress
• Make rapid in-the-moment decisions when responding to complex situations

What We're Looking For

• 1-3 years of experience working on helplines in either paid or voluntary capacity
• Completed training in Crisis Intervention or Suicide Prevention (required)
• Demonstrated experience working with high-risk clinical situations, including suicide risk and crisis cases
• Appropriate professional insurances as required in Indonesia
• Ability to maintain emotional composure in high-stress situations and resilience to recover from challenging interactions
• Strong preference for candidates with mental health or emergency services background
• Multilingual communication abilities are a plus
• Professional indemnity insurance is advantageous
