Inventory & Cost Accounting Manager

We are representing a confidential medical device organization seeking an experienced Inventory & Cost Accounting Manager. This role offers the opportunity to drive critical cost accounting processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, global environment. Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert in manufacturing cost flows from raw materials through finished goods and cost of sales
• Perform monthly analytics on cost of sales, absorption, purchase price variance, and other metrics to ensure accuracy of standards and gross margins
• Maintain integrity and accuracy of product cost data; support month-end close activities
• Lead a matrixed team of accountants across a global organization, delegating process improvement projects and reviewing month-end journal entries
• Establish and continuously improve inventory policies, processes, and management practices
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams on bill of materials setup, routings, and material master data
• Lead the annual standard-setting process and update standard costs in the ERP system
• Support ERP implementation through data conversion, testing, and workflow design
• Partner with FP&A on product cost modeling for forecasts and the Annual Operating Plan
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements including SOX
• Coordinate training for finance, accounting, manufacturing, and procurement teams

What We're Looking For

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience: 8+ years in accounting or finance; 5+ years in cost accounting preferred
• Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data merges, filters)
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Experience in a Sarbanes-Oxley compliant environment
• Proven team management and leadership experience
• Willingness to work flexible hours during month-end close to support international teams
• High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently
• Ability to analyze complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors
• Strategic thinking with emphasis on relationship management across organizational levels

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of multinational ERP systems (SAP and/or QAD a plus)
• Previous ERP implementation or project management experience
• Experience in fast-paced, team-oriented, matrixed organizations

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $115,000 - $149,000 USD. Actual compensation may vary based on your experience, skills, and location.
