About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential e-commerce client in Walldorf seeking a working student (Werkstudent:in) to support their finance team with controlling and digital process transformation. This is an excellent opportunity for a student who wants hands-on experience building automated finance systems rather than performing routine bookkeeping tasks.

Our client operates in a rapidly growing market and is modernizing their financial operations with AI-supported workflows and automation. You'll work directly with senior leadership and IT to shape how finance processes run, not just maintain them.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve financial processes and underlying systems in collaboration with management and IT teams
• Build controlling and reporting frameworks, including KPIs, analyses, and planning tools used by leadership and departments
• Maintain liquidity planning and rolling forecasts as a regular routine
• Conduct working capital analysis, from payment terms to payment provider costs
• Serve as a finance contact point for the management team
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding invoice rejections, account reconciliations, and other clarifications
• Resolve unclear invoices and payments while analyzing recurring error sources to eliminate them permanently
• Collaborate with the tax advisory firm on monthly and annual closings as well as ongoing accounting questions

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled student with at least two years remaining in your degree program, ideally in Business Administration, Business Informatics, Finance, or comparable field
• Problem-solving mindset focused on fixing root causes rather than repeatedly correcting symptoms manually
• Technical affinity with strong Excel skills and enthusiasm for building your own analyses and AI-supported process solutions
• Prior exposure to controlling, accounting, or financial operations is a plus but not required
• Proactive communicator comfortable engaging directly with internal teams, suppliers, and external advisors
• Strong communication skills in German, both written and verbal
• Structured work approach and persistence
• Available 16-20 hours per week, with flexibility to reduce during exam periods

Important: This role requires on-site presence in Walldorf for direct collaboration with the team, management, and IT. After onboarding, occasional home office days are possible, but fully remote work is not available for this position.
