(Sr.) Key Account Manager Retail – French Market

Responsibilities

We are representing a high-growth consumer goods organization expanding its retail footprint across the French market. In this role, you will drive both new business development and ongoing account management for strategic retail partnerships.

• New Business Development: Drive acquisition and onboarding of new strategic retail partners across France in alignment with growth objectives.
• Account Ownership: Take full commercial ownership of selected French accounts, ensuring achievement of sales and margin targets.
• Customer Strategy: Develop and execute tailored joint business plans aligned with overall company objectives and growth ambitions.
• Account Management: Build and nurture long-term partnerships with key retail partners, driving high customer satisfaction and sustainable growth.
• Market Insight: Analyze market, sales, and customer data to identify opportunities, define clear action plans, and accelerate performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal teams including sales coordination, trade marketing, supply chain, and logistics to ensure seamless execution.
• Teamwork: Work alongside a high-performing team, share best practices, and drive collective success.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in Key Account Management within the FMCG/CPG industry, ideally with full ownership of national grocery retail accounts
• Confidence leading annual negotiations and pricing discussions with knowledge of French grocery retail landscape structures and dynamics
• Strong negotiation and communication skills combined with a clear commercial mindset and consistent track record of delivering against sales and margin targets
• Hands-on, team-player mentality with the ability to proactively drive initiatives across functions
• Fluency in English and French (written and spoken); additional European languages are a plus
• Valid driver's license (B) and willingness to travel regularly

Location: This is a remote position based in Germany (Munich preferred). The role follows a hybrid working model requiring a balance of in-person presence for team connection, on-site customer meetings in France, and remote days for focused work. Our client offers relocation support for candidates relocating from France.
