About This Opportunity
We are representing a well-funded specialty insurance technology company in their search for a Sales Engineer based in Germany. Our client is building modern API-first solutions that help brokers and carriers streamline underwriting, policy administration, and claims workflows across complex insurance markets.
As Sales Engineer, you'll serve as the technical backbone of the sales process across the DACH and wider European specialty insurance market. Working closely with Account Executives, you'll translate complex insurance workflows into compelling product demonstrations and guide prospects from initial technical discovery through contract signature.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery calls with prospective carriers, MGAs, and brokers to understand their existing systems, data flows, and workflow challenges
- Design and deliver tailored product demonstrations and proofs of concept that showcase platform capabilities specific to each prospect's needs
- Act as the bridge between prospects and internal Product teams, feeding real-world requirements back into the roadmap
- Support smooth handoffs to delivery teams once deals close, ensuring technical context is preserved
- Represent the company at industry events, webinars, and broker/carrier roundtables across the region
- Collaborate with both the DACH market-facing team and the global sales engineering team as it scales
What We're Looking For
- Experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, or solutions/consulting roles, ideally within insurtech, fintech, or B2B SaaS sold to enterprise buyers
- Hands-on comfort with software development tooling (e.g. GitHub, REPL) and ability to speak credibly to both developers and business leaders
- Experience with AI coding tools and understanding of their benefits and safe usage
- Fluency in both German and English is required for this DACH-focused role
- Based in Germany with willingness to travel occasionally to customers, partners, and conferences
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical detail into business value
- Comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a Series B startup environment
- Exposure to specialty or commercial insurance workflows (underwriting, policy admin, claims) is a strong plus but not mandatory
- Experience in distributed work environments and collaborative product development is valued
