About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI software company serving the semiconductor and advanced hardware industry. Our talent team is seeking a Principal Thermal-Mechanical Engineer to lead customer engagement efforts across Europe, based remotely in Munich, Germany.

This is a strategic leadership role where you will build and mentor a team of thermal engineers who work directly with enterprise customers to validate cutting-edge physics simulation platforms. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, bridging deep simulation expertise with go-to-market execution.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and scale a high-performing team of thermo-mechanical engineers across Europe, including hiring, mentoring, and setting technical direction
• Collaborate with sales teams to lead technical discussions, scope proof-of-concept evaluations, and deliver compelling product demonstrations to prospective enterprise customers
• Guide customer engineering teams through evaluation phases by overseeing simulation setup, running complex test cases, and interpreting results to prove platform value
• Own customer enablement including onboarding, deployment pipelines, and account expansion through technical guidance, training sessions, and advanced troubleshooting
• Provide product guidance by identifying customer pain points and workflow bottlenecks, partnering with internal product and engineering teams to shape new features
• Represent the platform at major industry conferences and semiconductor events through technical presentations and live demonstrations
• Maintain deep understanding of competitive technologies, industry trends, and market positioning to communicate differentiators effectively
• Apply strong fundamentals in continuum mechanics to guide analyses of complex physical phenomena including nonlinearities, contact interactions, warpage, stress evolution, thermal cycling, and reliability

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related technical field
• 15+ years of hands-on experience with commercial simulation software (Ansys, Abaqus, or equivalent) in thermo-mechanical simulations, either as a practitioner or technical account manager
• Deep familiarity with semiconductor electronics packaging, advanced packaging technologies (2.5D/3D IC), or foundry ecosystems
• Prior experience in customer-facing roles with proven ability to build trust and manage engineering client relationships
• Practical programming experience using Python or C++ to automate workflows or parse simulation data
• Proven track record of managerial or technical leadership experience, with ability to scale, mentor, and drive execution across engineering teams
• Elite interpersonal and communication skills with ability to distill complex physics and simulation results for both technical panels and business executives
• Ability to travel moderately within continental Europe, with occasional intercontinental travel

Preferred qualifications:

• Familiarity with multiphysics workflows including thermal solutions management and/or Signal Integrity and Power Integrity (SI/PI)
• Direct experience commercializing technical software (EDA or CAE simulation tools) into major semiconductor and electronics enterprises
• Prior experience in technical pre-sales, application engineering (FAE), or strategic technical sales environments
• Ability to rapidly adopt and champion next-generation physics-based workflows and AI-assisted design or simulation tools
