About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential energy sector organization based in Berlin that is seeking an experienced Controller for Corporate Performance Management. In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to senior management and operational teams, delivering financial insights, planning expertise, and data-driven recommendations that support critical business decisions. Responsibilities

• Contribute to annual budgeting, medium-term planning, liquidity forecasting, and quarterly/annual closing processes from a controlling perspective
• Prepare balance sheet and liquidity plans, cash flow analyses, and manage treasury activities including bank relationships and guarantee management
• Create and continuously develop meaningful management reports and analyses, including contribution margin analyses, scenario modeling, ad-hoc evaluations, and executive presentations
• Analyze market prices, economic indices, and other financial drivers to develop forecasts and provide robust decision support for leadership and departments
• Advance digitalization and automation of controlling processes by developing modern reporting and analytical tools and identifying optimization opportunities
• Act as a trusted advisor to management and functional teams, translating complex financial information into clear insights and actionable recommendations

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, Economics, Energy Economics, or a comparable field
• Minimum five years of professional experience in controlling, finance, or performance management—ideally within the energy or utilities sector
• Strong financial and business acumen with pronounced affinity for numbers and understanding of broader economic relationships
• High digital fluency with hands-on experience using modern BI, analytics, and reporting tools; proficiency with SAP and MS Office (especially Excel)
• Strategic and analytical mindset with ability to challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for data-driven improvement
• Self-motivated, responsible, and structured working style with strong solution orientation
• Confident communicator comfortable working with diverse stakeholders; very good written and spoken German and English required
