Control System Engineer (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential robotics organization in München that is advancing the state of the art in motion control and real-time system performance. Our talent team is searching for a Control System Engineer to join their core engineering group and drive both product refinement and new prototype development.

This is a hands-on role where you will translate control theory into production-grade systems, working across the full stack from embedded firmware to analysis platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced control algorithms, calibration routines, and digital signal processing solutions for robotic systems
• Develop control software in C++, Python, and Matlab/Simulink, selecting the right tool for each challenge
• Build and operate test benches that validate system performance and reveal dynamic behavior
• Create data acquisition and processing pipelines to support system analysis
• Identify and characterize dynamic system properties through experimental methods
• Integrate control systems end-to-end across embedded firmware, middleware, backend services, and analysis tools
• Diagnose and resolve interoperability issues across distributed systems and hardware devices

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience as a control system engineer or applied mathematician
• 3+ years developing embedded software for scalable, high-performance systems
• Strong foundation in control theory, advanced control algorithms, and digital signal processing
• Proficiency in C++, Python, and Matlab for production and research applications
• Ability to read electrical schematics and understand sensor and component specifications
• Working knowledge of electric motors and motor control principles
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols including CAN, Ethernet, EtherCAT, and TCP/IP
• Experience with professional development tools such as Git, GitLab, Confluence, and JIRA
• Prior experience with robotic systems is a strong advantage
