About This Position

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct a team of embedded software engineers in delivering safety-critical and non-safety-critical Linux development work, ensuring compliance with DO-178C Design Assurance Levels, rigor standards, and all technical requirements
  • Plan and manage team staffing to meet project timelines, building a skilled engineering pipeline and identifying talent development opportunities
  • Oversee technical execution and agile delivery, monitoring team metrics and performance to consistently achieve or exceed cost, schedule, quality, safety, and technical performance objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineering, hardware engineering, quality assurance, customers, and suppliers to integrate software components seamlessly and meet all program requirements
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously in dynamic environments, maintaining professionalism and cultural sensitivity while leading through complex challenges
  • Guide engineering teams on design practices, independent verification, validation, and engineering excellence standards
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, building a team culture focused on technical innovation, continuous learning, and professional development
  • Integrate modern development practices and DevSecOps methodologies to strengthen security, quality, and efficiency throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Engage with stakeholders, customers, and regulatory partners to communicate project status, manage risks, address concerns, and align execution with program goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education
  • Minimum one year in a formal leadership role (team lead, interim manager, large cross-functional program management) or completion of company leadership development training
  • Demonstrated ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship
  • At least three years of experience in program execution and delivery
  • At least three years of experience with software and systems development lifecycle (SDLC) processes
  • Minimum two years leading technical programs or projects involving real-time operating systems, Linux kernel architecture, unikernels, or hypervisor technologies
  • Minimum two years developing software under safety-critical certification frameworks such as DO-178B or DO-178C standards
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in engineering or related field; experience with Boeing platforms and programs; hands-on experience with Linux software engineering
