Role Overview

In this position, you bridge the gap between complex data systems and the leaders who need that information. Working alongside program teams, subject matter experts, and technical specialists, you'll translate complex questions into data-driven answers that meaningfully improve how healthcare organizations operate and serve their missions.

Core Duties

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, document, and refine business and functional data needs.
  • Convert business requirements into clear specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for technical teams.
  • Examine existing workflows and operational procedures to locate inefficiencies and opportunities for data-driven improvement.
  • Conduct analysis on integrated datasets to generate insights supporting operational decision-making and leadership strategy.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau, Qlik, or comparable business intelligence platforms, emphasizing accessibility and clarity.
  • Write, test, and validate SQL queries to support analysis and verify data accuracy.
  • Work with QA and technical teams to confirm data quality and consistency meet business requirements and expectations.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including specifications, data definitions, and user guides.
  • Present data findings and conclusions to technical and non-technical audiences with precision and clarity.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in data analysis, business analysis, or related analytics functions within complex or regulated sectors.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in stakeholder collaboration and requirements gathering.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Tableau, Qlik, or equivalent business intelligence platforms.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and data insights to diverse audiences.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance (or higher).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Background in healthcare data systems or federal information environments.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR, or data models like OMOP.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Python (pandas library) for specialized analysis.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations, and compliance requirements in regulated industries.
