About the Role

As an Academic Mentor with City Year's AmeriCorps program in Lawrence, you'll work directly with students to build confidence, improve academic performance, and develop essential life skills. This hands-on coaching role supports individual students, classrooms, and entire school communities in achieving academic success.

What You'll Do

• Provide one-on-one academic coaching and mentoring to students in need of support
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to reinforce classroom learning
• Help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and study skills
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives that boost student engagement and achievement
• Build meaningful relationships that encourage student persistence and growth
• Work alongside City Year team members to strengthen entire school communities
