The Opportunity

City Year partners with local public schools to provide comprehensive academic and mentoring support to students who need it most. In this role within our Education, Training & E-Learning team, you'll work directly with students to strengthen their academic foundation and foster their social-emotional development. You'll be part of a mission-driven team committed to expanding educational opportunity and helping every student succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted instruction in core subjects through individual and small-group tutoring sessions
• Strengthen and extend classroom instruction by reinforcing concepts and skills students are learning in school
• Cultivate meaningful mentor relationships with students, building trust and encouraging academic confidence
• Track student progress and document growth in academics and personal development
• Support students' overall growth, helping them develop resilience, problem-solving skills, and a positive approach to learning

Who We're Looking For

You're a dedicated, empathetic educator with a genuine passion for student success. You communicate clearly, connect authentically with young people, and adapt your approach to meet individual needs. A background in education, tutoring, mentoring, or related experience is valued. You'll need a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to commit to full-time work in a school environment.
