About the Role
As a Class A CDL Driver with Clean Harbors, you'll operate commercial vehicles to transport, handle, and inspect hazardous chemical waste at customer facilities, laboratories, and industrial plants throughout the region. You'll work directly with our waste management teams and customers to ensure compliant, safe handling of regulated materials in both indoor and outdoor environments. This is a full-time position with hands-on responsibility for properly segregating, packing, and documenting chemical waste according to Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations.
What You'll Do
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles carrying hazardous materials, including tanker loads of chemical waste
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain detailed maintenance logs
- Handle, segregate, and pack chemical waste materials in compliance with DOT and EPA regulations
- Assist with lab packs and waste consolidation at customer sites and facilities
- Complete required hazmat documentation and manifest paperwork accurately and on time
- Follow strict safety protocols and company procedures for hazardous material transport
- Communicate professionally with customers and coordinate pickup and delivery schedules
- Work flexibly both indoors and outdoors across multiple facility types
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat endorsement required; Tanker endorsement highly preferred
- Proven experience driving commercial vehicles and transporting hazardous materials
- Strong knowledge of Federal and State hazmat transportation regulations and safety standards
- Clean driving record with no major violations or disqualifying incidents
- Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple customer sites
- Attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation and compliance
- Physical capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle chemical waste safely
- Reliability and professional communication skills
