Join U.S. Xpress as a Class A CDL Company Driver based in Abilene, Dickinson County. We're hiring experienced drivers with 1–5 months of OTR experience to operate our dry van fleet on regional and long-haul routes across the United States.

About the Role

This is a full-time, over-the-road driving position in our Class A CDL driver program. You'll operate a well-maintained dry van truck, managing deliveries across multiple states with an average of 2,000 miles per week. We provide consistent work, reliable dispatch, and competitive compensation packages designed to reward your experience and performance.

What You'll Do

• Operate a Class A CDL dry van truck safely and professionally on long-haul and regional routes
• Manage scheduled deliveries across the United States, averaging 2,000 miles weekly
• Maintain accurate logs, vehicle inspections, and compliance documentation
• Follow all Department of Transportation regulations and company safety standards
• Communicate with dispatch to optimize route efficiency and delivery schedules

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with clean driving record
• 1 to 5 months of OTR trucking experience (recently licensed CDL holders welcome)
• Ability to work independently on extended routes with consistent dispatch
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
• Reliable communication skills and professional demeanor

Competitive pay starting at 57–64 cents per mile, based on your experience level. Top-performing drivers in our OTR fleet earn up to $1,650 per week. We guarantee a weekly minimum of $1,500 and offer a $4,000 sign-on bonus to eligible candidates. Our home-time schedule follows a 12 days out / 2 days home rotation, giving you predictable time with family and friends.

Team driver positions are also available with higher earning potential: up to $5,000 sign-on bonus (split with your partner) and an average of 5,000 miles per week at $0.72–$0.80 per mile split. If you don't have a team partner yet, we'll help connect you with a compatible driver.
