U.S. Xpress is hiring experienced CDL-A drivers for full-time, over-the-road dry van positions in Lost City, Hardy County. If you hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with 1–5 months of professional driving experience, this opportunity offers competitive pay, flexible home time, and a clear path to higher earnings in the trucking industry.

About the Role

This is a full-time, over-the-road position hauling dry van freight across the continental United States. You'll operate independently or as part of a two-driver team, with the flexibility to schedule home time that fits your needs. U.S. Xpress focuses on both safe operations and driver earning potential, providing the foundation for a sustainable trucking career.

What You'll Do

• Operate a commercial tractor-trailer unit safely and legally across multi-state routes
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain detailed logbooks
• Meet delivery deadlines and customer requirements while adhering to DOT regulations
• Communicate with dispatchers regarding load status, delays, and route updates
• Maintain a professional safety record and follow company safety protocols
• For team drivers: coordinate with your driving partner on rest periods and scheduling

What We're Looking For

• Current Class A CDL with a clean driving record
• 1–5 months of professional trucking experience
• Ability to pass medical certification and background screening
• Strong mechanical knowledge and vehicle maintenance familiarity
• Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Compensation

• Competitive pay starting at 57–64¢ per mile, based on experience
• Solo drivers: averaging 2,000 miles per week, plus $4,000 sign-on bonus
• Team drivers: $5,000 sign-on bonus (split), averaging 5,000 miles per week at $0.72–$0.80 per mile (split)
