Join U.S. Xpress as an experienced over-the-road truck driver based in Fort Lupton, Colorado. We're looking for CDL-A operators with 1–5 months of professional experience to run long-haul dry van freight across the nation with competitive pay, predictable scheduling, and genuine driver benefits.
About the Role
This is a full-time, solo OTR truck driving position operating from Fort Lupton. You'll transport freight across the continental United States, averaging 2,000 miles per week in a modern, well-maintained dry van unit. Our routing strategy prioritizes consistency and stability so you know your schedule in advance—no surprises, no guesswork.
What You'll Do
- Operate a solo long-haul dry van, transporting freight regionally and nationally
- Execute 28-day road cycles followed by 5-day home time, ensuring predictable personal schedules
- Handle freight assignments with no manual loading or unloading responsibilities (100% no-touch freight)
- Maintain compliance with DOT regulations, logbook requirements, and safety protocols
- Communicate route updates and load status with dispatch and logistics partners
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance reporting
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license with clean driving record
- 1–5 months of verifiable over-the-road driving experience
- Knowledge of federal safety regulations and hours-of-service compliance
- Professional communication and reliability in all conditions
- Ability to work independently and manage long periods away from home
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive compensation begins at 52 cents per mile, scaling to 56 cents as you gain seniority. High-mileage drivers in our top-performing tier achieve weekly earnings of $1,500 or more. All drivers receive a $2,000 sign-on bonus upon qualification, paid vacation time, and performance-based incentive bonuses.
