Civil Design Manager – Site Design

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential engineering and design firm seeking a Civil Design Manager - Site Design to lead quality assurance and senior-level technical review across multidisciplinary land development projects. This role offers flexible work arrangements, including remote, hybrid, or office-based options across multiple U.S. locations.

Our client delivers preliminary and construction design services for diverse development projects spanning mixed-use, commercial, residential, industrial, sports venues, schools, and other site development types. As Civil Design Manager, you'll direct project staff on technical aspects, oversee quality review processes, and serve as a consultative resource to clients.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage project staff on technical aspects, coordinating across all disciplines involved
• Plan and oversee quality review processes for project deliverables
• Provide senior-level design review for various projects and act as a technical resource
• Serve as a consultative resource to clients for project resolution
• Strengthen and develop subject matter expertise in specific design areas
• Promote efficiencies in producing quality work across the team
• Supervise and review assignments of less experienced staff
• Assist in preparation of project studies through drawings, sketching, or data acquisition
• Attend client meetings and travel to job sites at various construction stages

What We're Looking For

• Associate Degree in Drafting or related field
• 10+ years of CAD software experience, specifically AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Project management skills for medium-sized projects
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
• Passion for taking ownership of work and positively impacting communities
• Ability to travel for in-office activities, client meetings, and site visits as needed
• Ability to work in various terrain and weather conditions during construction site visits
