Art Director (m/w/d) Brand, AI & Packaging

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential nutrition brand in Hamburg, and we're seeking an experienced Art Director to shape how the brand appears across digital, social, and physical touchpoints.

In this role, you will work closely with the Creative Director to develop visual systems that translate ideas into compelling designs. Your focus will span AI-assisted creative work, social media, Figma-based systems, and packaging design.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Evolving the visual language across social assets, campaigns, advertisements, presentations, and all brand touchpoints
• Creating social-first formats for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms that perform in-feed
• Leveraging generative AI tools for image creation, concepts, compositing, and rapid visualization while understanding when manual craft is essential
• Building reusable components, templates, and design systems in Figma
• Designing packaging from initial concept through layout, visualization, and print-ready files
• Developing complete campaign visual systems including key visuals, ad variations, social content, and landing pages
• Taking concepts from idea to execution independently without requiring large team support for every step
• Briefing and managing external partners including photographers, motion designers, and agencies to ensure brand consistency
• Creating templates and processes to prevent design from becoming a bottleneck

What We're Looking For

Our talent team is seeking candidates with:

• Several years of experience in graphic design, art direction, or brand design, ideally within D2C, consumer, or lifestyle environments
• A strong portfolio demonstrating not just beautiful design execution but visual concept development
• Advanced Figma skills and solid command of Adobe Creative Cloud
• Experience with social media design and understanding how platform-specific content differs from packaging or other formats
• Practical experience with generative AI tools such as Midjourney, ChatGPT, Firefly, or comparable platforms
• Packaging design experience including print file preparation and production fundamentals
• Strong instincts for typography, layout, imagery, color, and brand identity
• Ability to transform rough concepts into concrete visual solutions
• Fast, independent, detail-oriented work style that balances quality with pragmatism
• Communication skills to articulate design rationale and accept feedback professionally
• Enthusiasm for testing new tools and approaches rather than relying solely on established methods
• German language proficiency is required for this Hamburg-based position
