Change Order Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential clinical research organization seeking a Change Order Manager to lead financial documentation and budget alignment activities across complex project portfolios. This role sits at the intersection of project management, finance, and client services—requiring both analytical rigor and strong stakeholder communication skills.

You will own the end-to-end change order process: collaborating with project teams and financial analysts to develop accurate budgets, conducting variance analysis, preparing client-facing documentation, and leading alignment calls. This position is critical to maintaining project financial integrity and client trust as study assumptions evolve.

Location: Brazil or Mexico (remote)

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional collaboration with project management, financial analysts, and functional leads to produce high-quality change orders that accurately reflect revised assumptions and are delivered on time
• Review assumption changes against existing budgets to identify gaps, discrepancies, and unique service requirements; translate findings into accurate financial impacts
• Schedule and facilitate change order alignment calls with extended project teams and key stakeholders
• Prepare, edit, and customize change order documentation to clearly communicate strategic messaging, assumption changes, budget summaries, resourcing shifts, and additional financial requirements
• Integrate vendor and partner change orders into primary documentation while ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Validate all information including assumptions, processes, resourcing updates, timeline shifts, and site/patient changes against prior executed agreements
• Apply meticulous attention to financial formulas through cross-checks, formula review, and reasonableness testing
• Contribute to change order tracking, record-keeping, and development of departmental metrics
• Participate in internal and client calls on a routine basis

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in science, finance, accounting, or related business field
• Minimum 5 years of experience preparing proposals and/or change orders using Excel-based costing tools and contract documentation
• Working knowledge of project budgets and financial analysis
• Advanced Excel skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Understanding of clinical trial project lifecycles and how assumption changes impact budgets and financial outcomes at each stage
• Strong financial acumen combined with appreciation for precision and accuracy
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English with ability to build relationships across all organizational levels
• Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment and manage multiple assignments of varying complexity
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively
• High energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to exceeding expectations

Preferred:

• MBA
• Experience in the contract research organization (CRO) industry
