About This Opportunity

Our recruiting team at Get A Job.ai is representing a well-established national nonprofit organization dedicated to anti-hunger advocacy and direct services across the United States. This confidential client seeks passionate individuals to join their Associate Board as volunteer members who will play a meaningful role in expanding their fundraising capacity and community reach.

Location: United States (remote; proximity to New York City is advantageous but not required)

Position Type: Volunteer, unpaid board position

Term: One two-year term with potential extension

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with development staff to plan, organize, and execute fundraising events throughout the year aimed at generating funds for programs
  • Assist in identifying potential donors and sponsors for events and ongoing organizational support
  • Engage with community leaders, local businesses, and partners to build awareness and expand the supporter network
  • Contribute actively to committees and working groups focused on governance, event planning, marketing, volunteer recruitment, or strategic planning
  • Support advocacy efforts by sharing information about food insecurity and anti-hunger initiatives through social media and personal networks
  • Meet annual fundraising commitment of $500 (personal contribution or funds raised)
  • Attend quarterly board and committee meetings regularly and participate actively in discussions and decision-making
  • Stay informed about nonprofit development, management, and governance best practices

  • Active community involvement with a strong peer network and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and potential donors
  • Eagerness to fundraise within social and professional circles
  • Strong track record of volunteer experience; nonprofit experience required
  • Prior board experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience in fundraising or event planning preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
  • Lived experience with hunger is valued
  • Strong communication skills and ability to utilize creativity and innovation in fundraising initiatives
