Analytics Engineer – Finance

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential hospitality technology organization seeking a founding Analytics Engineer to join their Finance team. This is a greenfield opportunity to shape data infrastructure and analytical capabilities during a critical growth phase. You will design and develop analytical features that surface actionable insights for Finance leadership, enabling faster month-end close cycles and strategic decision-making.

In this role, you will build, optimize, and maintain production-ready ETL/ELT pipelines using DBT, Databricks, and SQL. You'll create scalable data models and analytical solutions using modern data modeling techniques, establishing data quality and testing practices that catch errors before they reach stakeholders. Working directly with Finance leadership, you'll translate business requirements into technical implementations and advocate for modern data practices across the organization.

What We're Looking For

Our talent team is seeking candidates with hands-on production experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines (minimum 3 years). You should bring proficiency in SQL and Python, with strong experience using DBT or equivalent modern data transformation tools. Experience with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms is valuable, though a willingness to ramp quickly is acceptable.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong understanding of data modeling and analytics architecture, with proven ability to work autonomously and manage priorities amid ambiguity. You should be comfortable breaking down complex problems and take pride in thoroughly validated work. A demonstrated commitment to data quality, testing, and accuracy is essential.

We're particularly interested in candidates who can leverage AI tools to redesign how teams approach data discovery and analysis—not just automating workflows, but building patterns and tools that shape how colleagues question data and validate insights. You should be capable of using AI to accelerate model development while critically questioning outputs and knowing when to push back.

Nice to have: Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, background working with regulated or governed data, and experience scaling analytics in fast-growing organizations.
