Head of Projects (m/w/d) – Data Center

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data center infrastructure organization with a significant presence across the DACH and CEE regions. Our talent team is seeking an experienced Head of Projects to lead and expand their Asset Upgrade and Replacement operations in Frankfurt am Main. This role combines full P&L ownership with hands-on leadership of complex technical projects in mission-critical 24/7 environments.

The position requires regular travel throughout DACH and CEE, with occasional work outside standard hours during critical maintenance windows. You'll be part of a larger project leadership team focused on aggressive year-over-year growth from a current regional revenue base.

Responsibilities

• Own and expand regional P&L through pipeline development, client conversion, and new business acquisition to achieve aggressive revenue growth targets
• Lead safe, on-time, margin-compliant execution of capital upgrade and replacement projects across DACH and CEE regions, ensuring consistent governance and performance metrics
• Build and convert a 12-24 month sales pipeline leveraging an established network of data center clients, investors, and colocation operators
• Lead all proposal processes, competitive tenders, and client responses
• Apply industry-specific procurement strategies including competitive bidding, supplier selection, and back-to-back subcontractor structures while ensuring commercial compliance with FIDIC and other relevant contract standards
• Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Project Support Professionals
• Manage workforce planning and succession planning for the regional team
• Represent the organization as a credible leadership presence to prospective clients, industry forums, and internal site operations teams
• Partner closely with internal QHSE, Finance, Commercial, Sales, Procurement, Account, Technical, and Operations leadership to align project delivery with regional business objectives
• Ensure all project administration remains audit-ready through deep understanding of delivery processes and IT tools
• Continuously identify improvement opportunities to optimize business practices

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 7 years of experience delivering projects within the region
• At least 3 years of multi-country people leadership experience
• End-to-end P&L responsibility with practical working knowledge of FIDIC and other recognized contract standards
• Demonstrated ability to identify and manage commercial risks in cross-border projects
• Proven track record developing and implementing industry-specific procurement strategies, including supplier selection, competitive tendering, and back-to-back subcontractor agreements
• Direct leadership experience with project professionals, including recruitment, development, performance management, and succession planning
• Demonstrable success growing project revenue with an established network of data center clients, investors, and colocation operators in DACH and CEE
• Recognized project management qualification (PMI PMP, APM PMQ, or equivalent)
• Completed degree or diploma in Engineering
• Business-level fluency in both English and German (written and spoken)
• Experience with M&E (electrical and building services) upgrades, civil and fabric works, fire detection and suppression systems, and security technology in live 24/7 data center environments
