Responsibilities

We are representing a leading global travel marketplace in their search for a Senior Business Operations Lead based in London. This role is critical to translating regional ambition into executable strategy across the UK, Ireland, and Nordic markets.

You will own the business operations agenda for a mature, high-growth European region. Partnering closely with senior commercial leadership, you will set regional growth strategy, translate it into plans that cross-functional teams can execute, and run the operating rhythm that keeps delivery on track.

Regional growth strategy:

  • Own end-to-end growth strategy for the region, defining competitive priorities and the initiatives that will drive guest activity, supply growth, and revenue
  • Build annual and quarterly plans, sizing opportunities and making recommendations on marketing spend, supply investment, and partnership efforts
  • Set and pressure-test regional targets, translating global goals into market-level commitments across supply, marketing, partnerships, policy, and product teams
  • Run deep-dive analyses on demand and supply dynamics, competitive movements, pricing, and seasonality, turning insights into clear recommendations
  • Identify and stand up new growth initiatives, using mature markets as test environments for offerings that can scale
  • Build investment cases for the region, including sizing, business case development, and stakeholder socialisation

Operating rhythm and execution:

  • Own the regional operating cadence including weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews
  • Convert strategy into sequenced execution plans with named owners, milestones, and success measures
  • Track delivery against plan, surfacing risks and bottlenecks early and driving resolution
  • Design and continuously improve operating processes to raise efficiency, transparency, and decision speed
  • Lead regional input into global planning and resource allocation cycles

Cross-functional leadership:

  • Act as connective tissue between regional teams and global functions including Product, Marketing, Communications, Policy, Finance, Data Science, Legal, and Community Support
  • Serve as decision partner alongside senior leadership, providing regional context and priorities
  • Build alignment on high-priority projects, market launches, and product tests, brokering trade-offs between global consistency and local market reality
  • Represent the region in broader business operations forums and bring best practices back to the team
  • Partner with Public Policy on regulatory landscape including short-term let rules and city regulation

Insights and storytelling:

  • Turn complex data into clear narratives that support decision-making with recommendations attached
  • Build reporting infrastructure including dashboards, performance packs, and executive materials, working with a dedicated analyst
  • Establish metrics that matter for the region and hold teams to shared definitions of success
  • Champion data-driven decision-making and leverage AI tooling to compress time from question to insight

What We're Looking For

  • 12+ years in business operations, strategy, consulting, or commercial leadership with a track record of owning outcomes in a market or business unit
  • Demonstrated ability to set strategy and drive it through to execution
  • Deep experience influencing without authority across global matrixed organisations
  • Strong analytical toolkit; comfortable working with finance and data science partners and interrogating the numbers independently
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication with executive presence in front of senior leadership
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a strong bias toward action and ownership
  • Practical fluency with AI tools and a view on where they change how teams operate
  • Familiarity with UK, Irish, and/or Nordic markets, or comparable mature-market experience
  • Experience in a two-sided marketplace, travel/hospitality, or consumer tech is highly desirable
  • Experience launching or scaling new products or lines of business in-market is a plus
  • This role requires working from the London office three days per week
