Algorithm Engineer

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential health technology organization that is advancing precision diagnostics and therapeutic development through biosignal analysis. We are seeking an Algorithm Engineer to join their Paris location.

In this role, you will work alongside data scientists, neuroscientists, engineers, and clinicians to develop, deploy, and maintain machine learning and deep learning models that analyze complex biosignal data. This position offers the opportunity to make meaningful impact in neurological and sleep disorder diagnostics and treatment development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the complete biosignal-based algorithm development lifecycle for medical devices, including requirements gathering, data curation and labeling, development, failure analysis, production deployment, maintenance, and documentation
• Select and implement the most appropriate analytical methods for each problem, balancing deep learning techniques with traditional approaches based on effectiveness
• Enhance internal deep learning and machine learning tools to improve team efficiency, introduce new model architectures, and refine codebases for reusability and rapid experimentation
• Establish and improve best practices to ensure algorithm implementations are user-friendly, well-documented, and thoroughly tested with unit tests, comprehensive documentation, CI, and non-regression testing
• Present technical results to key stakeholders and support their utilization of algorithms for client engagement
• Support client-facing projects to understand and shape the impact of deployed algorithms and inform future development

What We're Looking For

• More than 4 years of industry experience in machine learning and deep learning, particularly in health sciences or other regulated fields, with proven success bringing algorithms into production
• Strong experience with digital signal processing (DSP) and statistics, with judgment to apply the right tool for each problem
• Proficiency in PyTorch (preferred) or other deep learning frameworks for training, developing, and deploying models
• Familiarity with latest deep learning advances including Transformer/ViT architectures, large scale modeling, and large model training
• Adherence to best practices in software and ML engineering: testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, Dockerization, CI/CD, and experiment tracking
• Experience with or enthusiasm for biosignals, medical imaging data, or large time-series datasets
• Strong team collaboration skills with appreciation for open communication and continuous feedback
• Ability to distill and present complex technical topics appropriately for varied audiences, both internally and externally
• Enthusiasm for participating in the entire algorithm development lifecycle from scoping through production deployment and client collaboration
