Junior Category Manager – Frische (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization in München that is seeking a Junior Category Manager to drive performance in their fresh products segment. In this role, you will:

• Drive the economic performance of fresh product categories
• Work closely with suppliers and support assortment analyses and commercial negotiations
• Manage assortment, pricing, and promotional activities across multiple subcategories including bakery, frozen foods, dairy products, and convenience items
• Coordinate with marketing and supply chain teams to ensure successful campaigns and optimal product availability
• Support the introduction of new products and seasonal highlights
• Monitor purchasing prices, inventory levels, market trends, and supplier operational updates
• Use data, reports, and analytics as the foundation for smart commercial decisions
• Help optimize processes across the entire value chain from supplier coordination to daily execution

What We're Looking For

• At least 1 year of experience in category management, purchasing, or a comparable commercial role
• Experience in fresh products, grocery retail, FMCG, or e-commerce is a strong plus
• Understanding of product categories such as bakery, frozen foods, or dairy products is highly beneficial
• Strong interest in working with data, Excel, and modern AI tools in your daily work
• Highly organized with reliable follow-through on tasks
• Strong communication skills and confident presence with suppliers and internal teams
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
• Valid Class B driver's license for supplier visits
