(Senior) Full-Stack Engineer | Frontend-leaning | Platform Team (f/m/d) | Berlin

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded fintech platform in Berlin that is transforming how private market operations are managed. Our client is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer with strong frontend expertise to join their Platform team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who values ownership, technical excellence, and the chance to work on infrastructure serving thousands of users managing significant assets.

You'll be building foundational product experiences using modern frameworks, contributing to both frontend architecture and backend services, and helping maintain an in-house Design System. Your work will directly impact how fund managers and investors interact with critical financial infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build robust, scalable, and well-tested full-stack product features with a strong focus on frontend quality using modern frameworks and the company's Design System
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and Engineers to ship high-quality features efficiently
• Contribute to and evolve frontend architecture, backend services, tooling, and the design system
• Ensure excellent developer experience while continuously improving performance, reliability, and maintainability across the stack
• Write meaningful unit and end-to-end tests
• Actively shape product solutions by participating in discovery sessions, feedback rounds, and design critiques

For Senior-level candidates, additional responsibilities include:

• Take ownership across the stack with particular depth in frontend, influencing platform-wide technical decisions
• Drive alignment between design and development teams on challenging UX cases
• Own and evolve the in-house Design System alongside the design team
• Guide the team on architecture and performance decisions
• Mentor and support other engineers

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience building product applications across the stack, with clear frontend depth (for Senior level)
• Fluency in TypeScript and comfort with modern frontend frameworks
• Ability to contribute to Node.js backend services
• Experience working with Design Systems (Senior candidates should have experience building or maintaining custom ones)
• Familiarity with unit and E2E testing tools such as Vitest, Playwright, or equivalents
• Understanding of UI/UX principles with a focus on building elegant, accessible, and usable interfaces
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and turn loosely defined ideas into working software
• Previous experience in a startup or scaleup environment
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset

Nice to have:

• Previous exposure to fintech or highly regulated domains
• Experience with form validation tools like zod
• Experience working with data visualizations such as tables and charts

Technical environment: The stack includes React, TypeScript, Shadcn, Node.js, NestJS, MySQL, Vitest, Playwright, and Kubernetes on AWS infrastructure.

Location and Benefits

This position is based in Berlin with a remote-flexible hybrid model (3 days per week in office).
