runZero is hiring a Vice President, Sales (Remote) to take the helm of our sales organization and accelerate the company's next phase of growth across the United States. This is a remote, full-time leadership role for a hands-on revenue leader who loves both strategy and the field.

About the Role

Reporting to the COO, the VP of Sales will architect, build, and run a high-performing revenue engine that produces consistent, predictable growth. You'll lead a team of Account Executives while partnering tightly with Marketing, Customer Success, Sales Engineering, and Product to scale runZero's go-to-market motion. The ideal candidate has led sales at a high-growth cybersecurity company and enjoys staying close to customers, prospects, and partners as a true player-coach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a scalable strategy delivering predictable ARR across enterprise, mid-market, and federal segments through new logos and strategic expansion.
  • Recruit, coach, and retain a sales team grounded in accountability, urgency, and teamwork.
  • Run data-driven forecasting and pipeline management to hit targets every quarter.
  • Refine repeatable processes that improve conversion, deal size, velocity, and forecast accuracy.
  • Personally engage C-suite stakeholders and help close complex six- and seven-figure deals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on pipeline generation, roadmap feedback, retention, and expansion.
  • Shape GTM strategy β€” target segments, pricing, and sales plays β€” and deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to executives and the board.
  • Contribute to planning around territories, quotas, compensation, and budget alignment.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in B2B SaaS, including 3+ years leading sales (VP of Sales, Head of US Sales, or similar).
  • Demonstrated success scaling teams and processes in high-growth technology environments.
  • Consistent record of meeting and exceeding targets; cybersecurity experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to personally close seven-figure deals while in a leadership seat.
  • Fluency in modern methodologies (MEDDPICC) and tooling such as Salesforce and Gong.
  • Strength in complex enterprise selling, long cycles, territory planning, quota setting, and incentive design.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership, comfortable operating strategically and tactically.
