Join YMCA of Central Florida as a Group Exercise Instructor at our Winter Park YMCA Family Center in Aloma, Orange County. We're seeking a passionate, energetic fitness professional to lead dynamic group exercise classes and inspire our members to achieve their health and wellness goals in a welcoming, inclusive community setting.
About the Role
As a part-time Group Exercise Instructor with YMCA of Central Florida, you'll be at the heart of our mission to strengthen the community through healthy living and personal wellness. You'll design and deliver engaging group fitness classes that cater to members of all fitness levels and backgrounds, creating an empowering environment where everyone feels welcome and supported in their wellness journey.
What You'll Do
- Lead high-energy group exercise classes in cardio, strength training, dance fitness, mind-body disciplines, or specialty formats
- Provide clear instruction, form corrections, and modifications to accommodate varying fitness abilities within each class
- Build and maintain a loyal, engaged class community through enthusiasm, encouragement, and inclusive teaching practices
- Set up and break down fitness equipment safely and efficiently before and after each session
- Support member health and wellness goals through positive interaction and accountability
- Adhere to YMCA safety protocols and facility procedures to ensure a secure exercise environment
- Collaborate with the fitness team to maintain program quality and member satisfaction
What We're Looking For
- Current group fitness certification or commitment to obtaining one (ACE, NASM, ISSA, or equivalent)
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to complete training
- Demonstrated passion for fitness, health promotion, and community wellness
- Strong communication and motivational skills with the ability to connect with diverse audiences
- Reliable, positive attitude with a commitment to the YMCA's values of inclusivity and social responsibility
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
