What This Role Involves
As a 3D Subtitling Operator, you'll specialise in preparing subtitles for stereoscopic and immersive video formats, ensuring text placement, timing, and visual hierarchy work seamlessly within 3D viewing environments. You'll work alongside creative and technical teams to deliver subtitles that enhance rather than distract from the viewer's 3D experience, meeting tight project schedules and broadcast standards.
Your Responsibilities
- Create, time, and position subtitles for 3D video content using industry-standard software
- Apply formatting and styling guidelines to maintain consistency across projects
- Perform quality assurance checks to verify accuracy, synchronisation, and compliance with technical specifications
- Collaborate with video editors, post-production teams, and producers to resolve subtitle-related issues
- Manage subtitle delivery in required formats and file structures for various distribution channels
- Troubleshoot compatibility issues between subtitle data and 3D playback systems
- Maintain detailed project logs and documentation for audit and review purposes
Requirements
- Proven experience working with subtitling software, preferably in a broadcast or production environment
- Familiarity with 3D video formats, stereoscopic workflows, or immersive media
- Proficiency in subtitle formats (SRT, SUP, MXF, and similar) and delivery specifications
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong proofreading and quality control skills
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Good understanding of audio-visual synchronisation and video editing workflows
- Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
