What This Role Involves
As a special education teacher at Cityscape Schools, you'll deliver individualized instruction to students with varying abilities and disabilities. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to each student's IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals and learning style
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral observations
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports emotional and social development
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to comprehensive education plans
- Utilize school technologies and resources to enhance student learning outcomes
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
Qualifications
- Valid Texas special education teaching certificate or equivalent credential required
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Demonstrated experience working with students with disabilities
- Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and differentiation strategies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and families
- Commitment to creating inclusive, supportive learning environments
- Proficiency with educational technology and data management systems
