About the Role
This is a temporary travel assignment designed for qualified cath lab technologists seeking short-term contract work. You'll work 10-hour shifts on a rotating schedule at a Des Moines healthcare facility, supporting the cardiac catheterization team. The assignment runs for 13 weeks and begins as soon as possible.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and maintain catheterization laboratory equipment and instrumentation
- Assist physicians during cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide technical support during procedures
- Maintain sterile field protocols and adhere to infection control standards
- Document procedure details and maintain accurate patient records
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and inventory of catheters, guidewires, and other supplies
- Respond to emergency situations and code alerts
What We're Looking For
- Current certification as a Certified Cath Lab Technologist (RCIS or equivalent)
- Active professional licensure as required by Iowa
- Minimum 2-3 years of catheterization laboratory experience
- Proficiency with standard cath lab equipment and imaging systems
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamic monitoring
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Flexibility for rotating shifts and willingness to work on a travel contract basis
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
