CNC Operator I

The Opportunity

Wabtec is seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined CNC Operator I to support our production operations in Monte Alto. In this entry-level role, you'll operate precision CNC machines under supervision, developing hands-on technical expertise while contributing to the production of quality industrial components. This position is ideal for someone launching a career in manufacturing and ready to master essential machining skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machine tools to produce components according to engineering specifications and technical drawings
• Load and position workpieces, materials, and cutting tools into machines
• Monitor machine operation continuously to ensure quality output and maintain required tolerances
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, and minor adjustments to equipment
• Measure and verify finished parts using precision measurement tools
• Identify and report machine malfunctions, defects, and quality concerns to supervisors
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area at all times

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings
• Attention to detail with commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
• Previous CNC operating experience a plus; entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials safely
• Strong reliability and willingness to work in a manufacturing production environment
