Electric Mechanic A

Wabtec is hiring an Electric Mechanic A for our Cleveland, OH manufacturing facility. This full-time position is ideal for experienced electrical technicians skilled in the maintenance and repair of complex electrical systems in a production environment.

What This Role Involves

As an Electric Mechanic A at Wabtec in Cleveland, you'll take ownership of the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and components supporting our rail and transit manufacturing operations. You'll work directly with electrical schematics, control systems, and industrial equipment while maintaining the highest safety standards. This hands-on role is fundamental to Wabtec's delivery of reliable products to customers across the transportation industry.

What You'll Do

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, and components throughout the manufacturing facility
• Interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to guide repair and installation work
• Diagnose electrical faults using testing equipment and perform corrective repairs
• Execute lockout/tagout procedures and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
• Conduct preventive maintenance and document completed work accurately
• Coordinate with production teams and supervisors to maintain schedules and quality standards
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to support ongoing operations

What You Bring

• Demonstrated experience as an electrical mechanic, electrician, or equivalent electrical maintenance professional
• Solid understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and industrial components
• Competency reading electrical schematics and interpreting technical documentation
• Hands-on proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic tools
• Physical capability to safely perform work in a manufacturing environment
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to compliance
• Reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
