Service System Engineer (m/w/d) Door Systems

Wabtec is hiring a Service System Engineer (m/w/d) Door Systems for a full-time, remote position serving clients in and around Leipzig, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.

About the Role

Join our Door Systems team as a Service System Engineer and help deliver mission-critical solutions to customers across Europe. In this remote role, you'll bridge technical engineering and customer success, responsible for designing, diagnosing, and optimising service systems that keep our door systems operating at peak reliability. You'll work autonomously and collaboratively to solve complex technical challenges and shape how we serve our growing customer base.

What You'll Do

• Architect and implement service solutions for advanced door system deployments
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults affecting system performance and uptime
• Conduct root-cause analysis and develop long-term system improvements
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer teams to optimise service delivery
• Create and maintain technical documentation, diagnostic procedures, and service guides
• Support customer implementations through remote troubleshooting and on-site assessment
• Identify process improvements and contribute to evolving our service methodology

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Service System Engineer, technical field engineer, or equivalent role in industrial or transportation systems
• Strong expertise in system diagnostics, architecture, and service engineering principles
• Proven troubleshooting skills and methodical approach to problem-solving
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate complex concepts
• Fluency in German and English; additional languages welcome
• Experience working independently in remote settings whilst maintaining team collaboration
• Background in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering advantageous
