IT Specialist

Hire Overseas is recruiting an IT Specialist to work on-site in the Philippines, where you'll manage the Android tablet infrastructure and serve as the go-to technical resource for our growing team. You'll combine hands-on device management with proactive help desk support, ensuring operations stay seamless across the organization.

About the Role

As our IT Specialist, you'll own the Android device ecosystem from purchase through deployment and beyond. This is a full-time position reporting to our operations leadership, where your technical expertise and responsiveness directly impact team productivity. You'll work within Eastern Standard Time availability and maintain a rotational weekend schedule to ensure continuity of support. The role demands someone who takes pride in solving problems quickly, communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues, and understands that no task is too small when it affects someone's ability to do their job.

What You'll Do

• Deliver first-line technical support for internal teams and field operations, triaging help desk requests and resolving issues around connectivity, software, hardware, and account access
• Manage the full Android tablet fleet lifecycle—acquiring, configuring, enrolling devices into management systems, enforcing security policies, and retiring hardware
• Troubleshoot device issues rapidly with a target resolution time of under 30 minutes for critical problems, documenting your approach so solutions scale as the team grows
• Onboard new staff with complete IT provisioning, including account creation, device setup, and access management
• Identify operational improvements that enhance Android device reliability and performance, and support smooth rollouts of configuration changes and updates
• Build and maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and processes that enable the support function to scale

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience administering Android devices in enterprise or large-scale deployment settings
• Solid help desk background with demonstrated troubleshooting expertise across devices, systems, connectivity, and software
• Comfort using SQL and command-line interfaces to investigate technical problems and pull data when needed
• Strong communication skills—translating technical issues into plain language for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa
• Familiarity with modern productivity and support tools (Slack, Linear, HelpScout, Notion)
• Ownership mentality: you prioritize responsiveness, follow through on every task, and manage multiple open items without dropping the ball

Nice to have: Experience supporting remote or field-based teams, background in regulated industries, large-scale Android device lifecycle management, and knowledge of security or compliance frameworks.

This full-time role offers USD compensation paid bi-monthly on the 15th and 30th of each month. You'll receive paid time off in accordance with company policy and observe company-recognized holidays. You'll collaborate closely with IT leadership, engineering, and operations teams from your first day, working in an environment that values accountability, speed, and clear communication.
