Senior Director, Marketing

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cyber risk analytics firm in their search for a Senior Director, Marketing based in London. Our client delivers enterprise-grade analytics software to insurance carriers, reinsurers, and brokers globally, and is backed by institutional investors for accelerated growth across the US and Europe.

This is a full-function marketing leadership role with accountability for demand generation, product marketing, and communications/events. You will own the marketing budget, lead a team of seven across the US and UK, and report directly on pipeline contribution. The role requires regular international travel across the US and Europe.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the complete marketing function: demand generation, product marketing, and communications/events, including team leadership across the US and UK and full budget accountability
• Establish a unified marketing plan and operating rhythm, and connect marketing performance directly to commercial targets
• Own an agreed and evidenced marketing contribution to pipeline, reported consistently and trusted by sales leadership and the board
• Manage the function using metrics: pipeline sourced and influenced, stage conversion, cost per opportunity, and programme ROI
• Refresh positioning and messaging for a technical analytics product and maintain narrative consistency across marketing, sales, and product
• Hold and defend the full marketing budget, making allocation trade-offs between headcount, programmes, brand, and events based on evidence
• Lead, coach, and develop the team, retaining top performers and aligning team structure to the plan
• Build measurably stronger share of voice in cyber risk analytics across insurance and reinsurance media, analysts, and industry events
• Execute marketing strategy across US and European markets, managing a geographically distributed team without time-zone bias
• Partner closely with Sales and Product, operating as one integrated go-to-market unit

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Proven marketing leadership across demand generation, product marketing, and communications/events, with a team of comparable size and seniority
• Track record of setting the plan, allocating a budget, and being held accountable to a pipeline number
• Experience marketing complex software, data, or analytics into large enterprise buyers in B2B SaaS or analytics businesses with long sales cycles, multiple stakeholders, technical evaluation, and six- to seven-figure ACVs
• International experience running marketing across US and European markets and managing teams across time zones
• Full budget ownership with demonstrated ability to make allocation trade-offs and evidence return on investment
• Metrics-oriented mindset; comfortable running the function off numbers and being inspected on them alongside sales
• Product marketing expertise to shape positioning and messaging for technical analytics products
• Commercial accountability; volunteers for the number and is comfortable in forecast reviews
• Executive credibility with ability to articulate commercial arguments and carry the company story
• High-accountability people leadership that raises the bar on existing teams through clear expectations and direct feedback
• Strong editorial judgment and taste; will not ship undifferentiated content
• Collaborative approach with Sales and Product; low ego, high candour
• Based in London with ability to travel regularly across the US and Europe

Strong Plus:

• Marketing experience in insurance, reinsurance, or financial services (carriers, reinsurers, brokers, MGAs, Lloyd's market, banks, asset managers)
• Experience marketing alongside direct enterprise sales teams with named accounts, including account-based marketing
• Track record of building or materially raising a brand in a category that needed defining
• Experience running flagship industry event presence and executive speaking programmes
• Analyst and media relations experience with thought leadership built on proprietary data
• Experience scaling a marketing function through a step change in growth expectations
• Comfort in fast-moving, AI-enabled commercial functions
