Working Student – Data Engineering (m/f/d), Munich

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded AI startup in Munich that is transforming how 3D design and manufacturing workflows operate. Our client is building next-generation tooling for parametric modeling, and they need a working student to support their data engineering efforts.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for acquiring, parsing, and preparing 3D geometric datasets that feed machine learning pipelines. You'll work closely with both the data and AI teams to ensure training data is clean, structured, and ready for experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain parsers that convert CAD file formats into machine learning-compatible structures
• Source, clean, and organize 3D parametric datasets for model training
• Extend and maintain data pipelines that deliver reliable input to the AI research team
• Support experimentation by preparing custom datasets and troubleshooting data quality issues
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to improve data tooling and workflows

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field
• Strong Python programming skills
• Genuine interest in 3D geometry, CAD systems, or geometric representations such as boundary representations, meshes, or point clouds
• Structured and self-motivated approach to problem-solving
• Available for 20 hours per week, on-site in Munich
• Bonus: Prior experience with CAD software, geometric libraries, or data pipeline frameworks
