Integration Solutions Engineer (m/w/d) – Remote (EU)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in the energy sector, and our talent team is searching for an Integration Solutions Engineer to join their remote engineering function across the EU.

This is a unique role that blends hands-on technical implementation with direct client engagement. You will own integration projects end-to-end—from requirements gathering and technical design through to production deployment—acting as the technical bridge between the platform and customer system landscapes including ERP systems, third-party APIs, and cloud services.

You'll work directly with customers and their IT teams, lead technical workshops, design event-driven data pipelines, and write production-grade code. This is not a ticket-driven role; it requires ownership, pragmatic problem-solving, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while managing partner relationships independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration projects independently from initial customer requirements analysis through architecture design to production go-live
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and their IT teams throughout the integration lifecycle
• Conduct technical workshops, align on interface specifications, and guide the entire integration process
• Build and maintain integrations between the platform and external systems (ERPs, third-party APIs, partner services)
• Design and implement event-driven, asynchronous data pipelines using message queues and pub/sub patterns
• Collaborate directly with integration partners and ERP vendors—from requirements capture through troubleshooting and ongoing coordination
• Define and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Ensure reliable, traceable, and resilient integrations with robust error handling for real-world scenarios, not just happy paths

What We're Looking For

• Experience in technical customer-facing project work—you can gather requirements, communicate technical concepts clearly, and steer integration projects autonomously
• Strong communication skills in partner environments—you manage external relationships independently, follow up proactively, push back when necessary, and keep integrations on track without a PM intermediary
• Production-ready programming skills—you write backend code that runs reliably in production, not just prototypes
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred)—you have deployed to the cloud and managed infrastructure with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
• Understanding of event-driven architecture and asynchronous messaging—you work confidently with message queues, pub/sub patterns, and understand why they matter for integration work
• REST API design and consumption—you build and integrate APIs as a core part of your work
• Knowledge of authentication mechanisms—OAuth2 and API key authentication, and when to apply each
• Familiarity with reliability patterns—retries, idempotency, dead-letter queues, and circuit breakers are standard practice for you, not afterthoughts
• Serverless fundamentals—you understand the paradigm and can assess when it makes sense (hands-on experience is a plus but not required)
• German language proficiency—you communicate confidently in both German and English, essential for direct collaboration with German-speaking partners and vendors as well as international team contexts
• Ownership mindset—you take responsibility for what runs in production, think in terms of products rather than tickets, and thrive in ambiguity
