About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare communications agency in Cologne that is seeking an experienced Design Team Lead. This role offers the opportunity to shape creative direction, lead talented designers, and deliver integrated 360° campaigns for healthcare clients. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop the agency's creative strategy while managing day-to-day design operations across print, digital, and brand development projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the design team, managing resources and fostering professional growth
• Oversee campaigns, brand identities, and complex layouts for healthcare communications including brochures, exhibitions, digital platforms, and AI-driven campaigns
• Collaborate with the agency head on strategic creative development and business growth initiatives
• Provide senior-level creative consultation to clients and represent the agency in pitches and new business opportunities
• Ensure consistently high design quality across all deliverables
• Drive innovation by implementing new technologies including AI and generative design tools to optimize workflows
• Work within interdisciplinary teams including project management, copywriting, strategy, and medical specialists

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in agency or communications design with a strong portfolio spanning print, digital, and brand development
• Proven experience leading and managing creative teams
• Strategic thinking skills with the ability to advise clients at senior levels
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma
• Experience with node-based design tools and AI platforms for creative production
• Understanding of how to integrate emerging technologies like AI and generative design into design processes
• Strong project management and resource planning capabilities
• German language proficiency required for client interaction
