Responsibilities
Our talent team is representing a confidential cloud technology organization seeking a Graduate Site Reliability Engineer in Sydney. Working remotely anywhere in Australia, you will contribute to building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure cloud platforms and tools that support mission-critical services.
In this role, you will:
- Apply site reliability engineering principles to improve system stability and performance
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Troubleshoot and debug issues in distributed cloud-native systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support service reliability and operational excellence
- Create and maintain documentation to support engineers and improve self-service capabilities
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, learning best practices along the way
- Grow your skills under the guidance of senior team members while contributing to team knowledge sharing
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a candidate with:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Approximately 1 year of experience in a software engineering, SRE, or infrastructure role
- Australian government security clearance, or ability to obtain clearance (Australian citizenship required)
- Solid understanding of operating systems, preferably Linux
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or similar
- Experience with Kubernetes platforms like AKS, EKS, or similar
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C#, Java, or similar
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation practices
- Experience with observability tools (logging, metrics, APM)
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts (Terraform, ARM, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Exposure to AI development tools is beneficial
