We are representing a fast-growing energy technology company in Berlin that is reshaping how mid-sized industrial clients access sustainable power solutions. Our client operates in one of Germany's most complex B2B markets and is in a critical growth phase where foundational finance processes are being built to scale.

This Accounts Receivable Accountant role is essential to their operations—cash flow drives their ability to expand, and you'll own the complete process that protects and accelerates it. You'll manage collections, reconciliations, customer communications, and month-end close activities while working closely with Customer Success, Business Operations, and the Finance leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end collections process: monitor aging reports, prioritize high-impact accounts, and drive resolution through structured email and phone outreach
• Manage the dunning cadence with professionalism—firm on payment timelines while maintaining positive customer relationships
• Reconcile incoming payments against open invoices, investigate unapplied cash and payment discrepancies, and resolve short-pays independently
• Support monthly close activities with accurate AR reconciliations and clean aging analysis
• Take ownership of a high-volume AR ticket queue, categorize incoming requests, and resolve the majority directly
• Serve as the primary Finance contact for customers on invoicing, payment, and account inquiries
• Collaborate across teams to ensure Finance-related customer issues are resolved efficiently without getting stuck between departments
• Identify process gaps and drive concrete improvements to collections, reconciliation, or ticket handling workflows

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, Credit Control, or a comparable Finance role, ideally in high-volume B2B environments
• Solid understanding of core AR processes including dunning, cash application, reconciliations, and month-end procedures
• Confident communicator with customers in writing and by phone—able to be firm on payment timelines without damaging relationships
• Strong ownership mindset: you proactively identify problems, investigate root causes, and drive solutions across stakeholders
• Structured, analytical, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex open items while maintaining the bigger picture
• Business fluent in English and solid written German for customer correspondence; spoken German is a strong advantage
• Comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets and able to navigate standard office tools independently

Preferred:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or vocational qualification such as Bilanzbuchhalter:in IHK, Steuerfachangestellte:r, or kaufmännische Ausbildung
• Experience with AI-powered reconciliation tools or modern ticketing systems
• Curiosity about AI and automation; bonus if you've used tools like Claude or similar to improve your workflows
• Background in fast-growing start-up or scale-up environments

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process based on your experience level and the client's budget parameters.
