Founding Head of GTM – Cipherscale

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded security infrastructure startup building next-generation Zero Trust access controls. They need a founding commercial leader who can create a category from scratch, discover real customer pain, and build the first repeatable revenue motion for an AI-native security product.

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time B2B contract (long-term); permanent employment available for candidates in Spain, Poland, and Germany

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end commercial discovery: ideal customer profile definition, buyer mapping, problem validation, positioning strategy, and design-partner recruitment
• Personally lead early customer conversations, technical discovery sessions, executive outreach, and initial deal closing
• Build an evidence-driven go-to-market system where every assumption is tested, validated, or discarded based on real customer feedback
• Leverage AI agents extensively for account research, competitive intelligence, personalization, meeting preparation, call synthesis, and experiment analysis
• Work directly with the CEO on category creation and strategic accounts
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate customer evidence into product inputs without turning anecdotes into roadmap commitments
• Define the first repeatable customer acquisition, deployment, conversion, and expansion motion before building a team
• Achieve clear milestones: 10-15 qualified ICP conversations and 5 design-partner candidates in first 30 days; production deployments by day 60; paying customers and proven repeatability by day 90

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• You have personally taken a deeply technical B2B security, infrastructure, identity, developer, cloud, or AI product from near-zero to repeatable initial revenue
• Credibility with CISOs, CTOs, security architects, platform engineers, and AI platform leaders—you can earn trust in technical conversations
• Strong working knowledge of security architecture concepts: identity, delegated authority, credentials, policy enforcement, trust boundaries, auditability, and blast radius
• Comfort selling before playbooks exist and learning directly from rejection
• Analytical rigor to distinguish activity from evidence and correlation from causation
• Willingness to challenge executive and product assumptions when customer evidence conflicts

Strong Background Signals:

• Early-stage Zero Trust, identity, cloud security, developer security, infrastructure security, AI security, or adjacent enterprise security categories
• Founder, first-GTM hire, product-led commercial operator, technical seller, or hands-on GTM executive experience
• Experience using AI as operating leverage—building agentic workflows before requesting headcount

This role is not for you if:

• Your first answer to growth challenges is "hire a team"
• You depend on agencies for core positioning or customer discovery
• You optimize lead volume before proving deployment and retention
• You cannot personally run technical discovery or executive selling
• You treat AI as merely a copywriting assistant rather than a core operating system
