Senior Software Engineer – GTM (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data analytics organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their go-to-market technology team. This role is based in Hamburg or Berlin and offers hybrid work arrangements.

Our client is a global leader in their space, with a strong international presence and a commitment to empowering decision-making through reliable data solutions. As part of their growth trajectory, they're expanding their engineering capabilities to support marketing technology and user data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Kotlin and Python that support user data flows across the organization
• Design and optimize scalable event-driven architectures and pipelines connecting internal systems with Customer Data Platforms and downstream marketing channels
• Build reliable, high-performance processes for collecting, transforming, and activating user data to ensure accuracy and timeliness for campaigns and analytics
• Drive technical design decisions and mentor fellow engineers while promoting engineering best practices
• Collaborate closely with marketing, data, product, and platform teams to align technical solutions with business objectives
• Ensure scalability, reliability, security, and observability through comprehensive monitoring, logging, testing, and proactive improvements
• Champion engineering excellence across the full software development lifecycle including architecture, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and maintenance
• Work flexibly across different technologies including frontend development and monolithic applications based on business needs
• Leverage AI tools in day-to-day development to improve productivity and code quality

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer
• Strong programming skills in Java/Kotlin and Python
• Strong understanding of both relational and non-relational databases
• Proven experience designing scalable backend systems and event-driven architectures
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Experience working with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and business teams

Nice to have:

• Experience with Customer Data Platforms and the MarTech ecosystem (e.g., Braze, Salesforce, Segment, Hightouch)
• Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift
• Experience designing and building AI-powered workflows, including AI agents, LLM integrations, or developer productivity tools

Pay
