Procurement Manager, Integrated Systems (Cryogenics, Vacuum, Plant)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential advanced energy organization based in Munich that is developing next-generation power systems. Our talent team is searching for a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing strategy for integrated technical systems including cryogenic equipment, vacuum systems, plant electrical supply, cooling infrastructure, instrumentation and control systems.

This role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy and deep technical complexity. You will own procurement for supplier-designed systems where performance, integration, and long-term reliability are mission-critical. You'll develop sourcing strategies, lead competitive processes from RFI through contract award, and define commercial frameworks covering warranties, acceptance testing, and lifecycle support.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end procurement for integrated systems, manufacturing equipment, and complex technical packages
• Develop sourcing strategies and identify qualified suppliers for cryogenic systems, fuel cycle equipment, vacuum systems, plant electrical supply, cooling systems, instrumentation/control/data infrastructure, plasma heating systems, and diagnostics
• Lead RFIs, RFPs, and supplier negotiations from market assessment through contract execution
• Define commercial agreements including performance specifications, warranties, documentation requirements, acceptance testing protocols, and lifecycle support terms
• Partner closely with engineering teams to manage supplier interfaces, mitigate technical risks, and track delivery milestones
• Manage interfaces between technical packages and suppliers, ensuring system-level performance requirements, integration responsibilities, and acceptance criteria are clearly documented
• Support contract execution through supplier performance management, change request administration, and commercial risk mitigation
• Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes using digital tools and emerging technologies

What We're Looking For

• Five to seven years of experience in procurement, supplier management, or strategic sourcing roles
• Demonstrated experience sourcing complex equipment, machinery, or integrated technical systems in environments with significant technical uncertainty
• Comfort working with detailed technical specifications, system interfaces, and acceptance testing protocols
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and project scope
• Strong negotiation skills and contract management expertise
• Ability to balance technical, commercial, and project considerations when making sourcing decisions
• Capability to shift between strategic planning and hands-on execution in multi-stakeholder environments
• Degree in Engineering or a related technical field

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in fusion, aerospace, energy, nuclear, automation, or similar complex engineering industries
• Background sourcing cryogenic systems, vacuum equipment, manufacturing machinery, power systems, or comparable technical packages
• Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning processes, warranty structures, and lifecycle support models
• Experience in startup, scale-up, or first-of-a-kind engineering environments
